Call to Action Script – Medicaid Savings Act

Hello {INSERT REPRESENTATIVE NAME},

I’m calling today to ask you to support SB 386 and HB 780, the Medicaid Savings Act. These bills, introduced by Senator Bill Blessing, Senator Beth Liston and Rep. Karen Brownlee, is currently before the Medicaid Committee.

If enacted, it would streamline the administration of Medicaid by reducing reliance on costly middlemen and improving efficiency in how the program is delivered. It is estimated to save Ohio between $450 million and $850 million annually.

We know that more than 11 hospitals in Ohio are at risk of closure in 2027. We need to do everything possible to prevent that from happening.

I’m asking you to urge Senator Mark Romanchuk, Chair of the Senate Medicaid Committee, and Jennifer Gross, Chair of the House Medicaid Committee to schedule proponent testimony hearings on SB 386 and HB 780 as soon as possible.
