Medicare Savings Act – Ohio House Script

Hello{INSERT REPRESENTATIVE’S NAME},

I’m calling today to ask you to support HB 780, the Medicaid Savings Act. This bill, introduced by Rep. Karen Brownlee, is currently before the Medicaid Committee.

If enacted, it would streamline the administration of Medicaid by reducing reliance on costly middlemen and improving efficiency in how the program is delivered. It is estimated to save Ohio between $450 million and $850 million annually.

We know that more than 11 hospitals in Ohio are at risk of closure in 2027. We need to do everything possible to prevent that from happening.

I’m also asking you to urge Jennifer Gross, Chair of the House Medicaid Committee, to schedule proponent testimony hearings on HB 780 as soon as possible.
