The purpose of the hearing is to bring together testimony focusing on the current healthcare system in the U.S. and its inability to meet the healthcare needs of all its citizens. The hearing will be recorded and the information obtained will be made available to candidates and elected officials. Members of Congress will be encouraged to incorporate this information into the Congressional Record.
The hearing will include a series of brief presentations of problems that people have encountered with our current system for healthcare, including uninsured, underinsured, difficulty obtaining access to care, quality of care, cost of care, and any other real problems that citizens wish to address.
Office holders and candidates for political office will be invited to come and listen, but will be informed in advance that they will not be permitted to address the audience--They will be there to learn the concerns of our citizens.
